Elevators & Projects

Today I spent two hours researching and dreaming about how to build an outdoor elevator so my Dad can get from the main level down to the garden.

It wouldn’t be that hard… Safe? Yeh, probably…

Is it what I should be spending time on right now? Debatable. Maybe yes.

I love projects — learning, researching, planning, solving, executing. Then that is where I stop. Right before maintaining.

I have about ten personal and business projects going right now — all of which need attention in the maintenance phase — maintenance and cleanup to ensure resilience and longevity.

Is it possible to structure life around ideas and projects? And skip maintenance and routine. Yes and no. I feel like I’m in a phase of intense creation and learning where I am also supposed to be accepting structure and discipline — so that I can then welcome more chaos, change and learning.

“Rapid-Gradual” as my friends Tim & Wendy have coined our Covid experiences.

A reshaping.

May I be willing and coachable. May I accept the rhythms and phases. May I please come out stronger, wiser and still standing.
