A Grand Joke
Routine is a sworn enemy. Doing things twice is to be avoided at all cost.
Yet here I sit night after night writing this blog. Same time, same place. Often uninterested. Committed. Showing up.
By some grand joke, I drew myself into a corner. To do the thing I detest. Doing the same thing every day. All year.
I’m not ready to speculate as to why. But like the 30-week campout adventure, it may have something to do with making and keeping commitments. To myself.
Or maybe it’s an effort to prove routine is possible and “following the rules” is palatable — if committed to oneself, not just to others, athority, teachers, bosses.
